MINUTES OF JANUARY 24, 2005

I.          PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

            The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairman John B. Angotti.

 

II         ROLL CALL

            The above members were in attendance and a quorum present.

 

III        MINUTES OF JANUARY 10, 2005

            There were no changes or corrections and Gary Lyon moved to approve the Minutes of January            10, 2005, as written.  Alfred Richens seconded and the motion carried.

 

IV        HOME OCCUPIED BUSINESS - OFFICE USE ONLY - CONTRACT CONSTRUCTION             SERVICES, INC. - 320 SOUTH 700 WEST - CHRIS JENSEN, OWNER

            Mr. Jensen was not present for the discussion.  Francis explained Mr. Jensen is currently in the process of obtaining his State Contractors License.  At the present time Mr. Jensen has a      Journeyman's License.  He is seeking employment as a Handyman which would allow him to perform plumbing services within a thousand dollar price range.  Alfred Richens moved to          forward a favorable recommendation for Contract Construction Services, Inc.  Larry Bruno       seconded.  Motion carried.

 

V         CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - FINAL - BUSINESS - LEARNING SKILLS FOR LIFE

            375 SOUTH CARBON AVENUE SUITE 101 - JEFF WARIX, OWNER

            Deborah Warix represented Mr. Warix in his absence.  Mrs. Warix explained the business in     question is a reading lab for children and adults.  Currently the reading lab accommodates      four computer stations. Mr. Warix has a degree in Elementary education but State credentials        are not required for this business.   Mrs. Warix stated Learning Skills for Life is equivalent to the Sylvan Learning Center type of idea, but with greater results.  Larry Bruno moved to forward a             favorable recommendation for Learning Skills for Life.  Jeanne McEvoy seconded.  Motion       carried.

 

VI        CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - FINAL - EXCAVATION AND FILL WORK            WESTWOOD BOULEVARD/HOSPITAL DRIVE INTERSECTION  - 800 WESTWOOD       BOULEVARD - DAVID O'BRIEN, OWNER

            Mr. O'Brien was not present for the discussion.  Francis explained Mr. O'Brien would like to     prepare the property in question for future development.  Mr. O'Brien has consulted with Nielson     Construction to begin excavation and fill work.  He has also consulted with Gary Sonntag on        issues of drainage.  Alfred Richens moved to forward a favorable recommendation for excavation          and fill work of 800 Westwood Boulevard.  Gary Lyon seconded.              Motion carried.
