1. MINUTES - January 13, 1998

MOTION. Boardmember Piccolo moved that the minutes of the January 13, 1998 meeting be approved as written. Motion seconded by Boardmember Bringhurst and carried.

2. MINUTES - January 28, 1998

MOTION. Boardmember Nikas moved that the minutes of the January 28, 1998 meeting be approved as written. Motion seconded by Boardmember Bringhurst and carried.

3. DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK PROGRAM - Report On Estimates For Potential Projects - Public Meeting Scheduled

Gary Sonntag presented a breakdown on estimated costs for three potential projects. The total cost for street lights and brick pavers for both sides of Main Street from Carbon Avenue to 2nd West is $138,072.87. The cost for a sidewalk on the north side of Main Street from 2nd West to Carbonville Road is $38,222.00. The cost to install decorative type street lighting from 2nd West to Carbonville Road is $59,320. Gary stated that there are other parts of the City that need to be improved, such as the development of a park on the corner of 3rd East and 5th North.

The Board discussed holding a public meeting to receive input from the business owners on Main Street from Carbon Avenue to 2nd West and whether they would be willing to have construction in front of their businesses again, as it was reported that the businesses lost money when the asphalt along Main Street was torn up and replaced last summer. The Board scbheduled a public meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 1998.

4. DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK PROGRAM - Permission To Proceed - Tabled

MOTION. Boardmember Nikas moved that the meeting adjourn and that the Council Meeting reconvene. Motion seconded by Boardmember Bringhurst and carried.
