IV HOME
OCCUPIED BUSINESS & SIGN FINAL
960
N. 300 E.-STITCHES & SILHOUETTES-SCOTT AND KIMBERLY HATHAWAY
Kimberly Hathaway presented this
request. This business will be a two part business between husband and wife. “Stitches”
will be a sewing, embroidery, quilting and digitizing
software to sew various designs on different types of material. “Silouettes” will be a plasma metal cutting business to cut
designs out of metal for customers. This business mostly uses scrap metal and
special orders for customers so there will not be an excess amount of metal
stored. Advertising for both businesses will be word of mouth and attending
community fairs etc. This is part-time business for both parties in addition to
full time jobs. Plasma cutting is not flammable or hazardous nor will it
produce any sparks or fumes. The cutting process sounds like an air compressor
and therefore is very quiet. The sign has not been designed as of yet but will
not go over the 150” maximum allowed size for the land ordinance. Staff
recommends this business. No traffic will be developed from this business and
parking for at least 6 vehicles is available in driveway. A favorable recommendation for a Home
Occupied Business & Sign Final was made by Commissioner Shook. Commissioner
Nielson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
V STAFF- Planning Commissioner Journal Handout
Commissioner Shook offered to check into some training for Planning and Zoning Commissioners. The interest for training from the P&Z Commissioners would include learning the new legislative and educational updates and duties for new commissioners as well as handouts and information to bring to the Commissioners. Commissioner Shook will give us an update at the next meeting if there is enough interest to bring an instructor to Price.
There were no further items on the
agenda and Commissioner Lyon moved to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at
Sexually Oriented Businesses
session with committee members- a discussion took place regarding Sexually
Oriented Businesses with the P&Z Committee members.
