 1.                BUDGET WORKSHOP - Capital Expenditures For Fiscal Year 2003/04

 

            Pat Larsen reported that the budget is out of balance by $5.2 million.  She presented and explained the reports pertaining to Capital Expenditures.  The following items were either deleted or reduced for the next fiscal year 2003/04.

 

Public Works Complex building resealing - reduced from $25,000 to $15,000

BLM building and property maintenance - reduced from $100,000 to $20,000

Replacement of indoor pool plumbing - $150,000 deleted

600 West drainage - reduced from $100,000 to $75,000

Bicycle stunt park - $50,000 deleted

Purchase of East Price Electrical System - reduced from $1,000,000 to $750,000 and offset by

revenues

Community and Economic Development vehicle - $25,000 deleted

Two new Police cars - $44,000 deleted

1 Ton dump truck with tool box for Streets Dept. - $45,000 deleted

2 drop in sanders for bob-tails for Streets Dept. - $25,000 deleted

10 wheeler dump truck for Streets Dept. - $95,000 deleted

4 X 4 pickup with dump bed for Streets Dept. - $30,000 deleted

2.5 ton dump truck for Maintenance Dept. - $65,000 deleted

Skid steer loader for Streets Dept. - $37,000 deleted

Replacement playground equipment at Washing and Terrace Hills Park - $30,000 (contingent

upon receiving a grant).

Replace 1975 Ford and 1979 Toyota trucks - reduced from $40,000 to $20,000

3/4 ton pickup for Cemetery - $30,000 deleted

Three axle transport trailer for Water Dept. - $20,000 deleted

3/4 ton 4 X 4 Truck for Water Treatment Plant - $30,000 deleted

3/4 Ton 4 X 4 utility truck for Meter Reading - $30,000 deleted

High dive stand at Swimming Pool - $10,000 deleted

Blue print copier for Public Works Complex - $5,000 out

Collector program for telephones for Treasurers Office - $3,000 deleted

Accounting software and upgrade - $30,000 deleted

Replace carpet in Police Department - reduced from $10,000 to $5,000

Downtown substation main electrical feed isolation - $100,000 deleted

 

The amount for the above items reduced or deleted totals $1,994,000.  The next budget meeting was scheduled for 7:00 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2003.
