III        MINUTES OF JUNE 26, 2006

A favorable motion to approve the minutes of June 26, 2006 as read was made by Commissioner Lyon. Commissioner Richens seconded the motion. Motion Carried.

 

IV        HOME OCCUPIED USE PERMIT-BUSINESS AND SIGN-FINAL

            1379 SCENIC VIEW LANE-PATTY “WHACKS” HAIR SALON, PATTY SMITH, OWNER (20 Favorable Neighborhood Signatures)

            Patty Smith presented this request for a Hair Salon in the basement of her home. The Commissioners were concerned that there are no exits to the outside from the basement.  Ms. Smith has had her home inspected by the Price City Building Inspectors, Bob Bennett and Francis Duzenack on different dates. Both inspectors told her that the stairs were close enough to the outside door upstairs, at the time she was in the finals stages of building her Salon. She has had fire alarms installed in the basement. Ms. Smith will have a small sign located between the two garage doors on her home. The Commission reminded Ms. Smith of the 150” size requirements for Price City code.  Staff recommends this Hair Salon business. A favorable recommendation for a Home Occupied Use Permit Business and Sign Final was made by Commissioner Sampinos. Commissioner Lyon seconded the motion. Motion carried.

 

V         CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT-SIGN-FINAL

            535 EAST MAIN, IMAGE SIGN & LIGHTING (TIRE KING)

            Nick Tatton presented this request as just a copy change to an existing sign. The new sign will be mounted where the existing sign is now. The sign fell outside of the boundaries of just a copy change or it could have just been changed without a Conditional Use Permit. A favorable recommendation for a Conditional Use Permit Sign Final was made by Commissioner Richens. Commissioner Nielson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

 

VI        CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT-SIGN-FINAL

925 EAST MAIN, BONA SIGNS-RICK MOORE, SALES MANAGER (TRINITY CHRISTIAN CENTER)

            Nick Tatton presented this request for a replacement sign for Trinity Christian Center which will be lighted on both sides and placed in the same location. This sign will be a nice addition to the area as the existing sign is quite outdated. A favorable recommendation for a Conditional Use Permit Sign Final was made by Commissioner Nielson. Commissioner Lyon seconded the motion. Motion carried.

 

VII      STAFF-

            CONDITIONAL USE AND HOME OCCUPIED PERMIT APPLICATIONS

·        PROPOSAL FOR REVISIONS: All Commissioners were quite pleased with the proposed changes and updates to the Conditional Use Permit and Home Occupied Applications. When the changes are complete the applications will move to the City Council for approval.

 

            There were no further items on the agenda and Commissioner Lyon moved to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 6:36 P.M.
