 1.                BUDGET WORKSHOP - Capital Expenditures

 

            The Council met to review Capital Expenditures for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005.  Pat Larsen indicated that the Capital Expenditures Budget was out of balance by $2,500,000.  Gary Sonntag has already deleted approximately $1 million in items, most if which were in the Parks and Cemetery Departments.  Those items were restrooms, sheds, and a 3 bay garage.  She recommended that two new police cars be bought instead of leased.  It was also recommended that $75,000 be moved to FY 2005 for the ozone chemical system for the swimming pool.  The following items were removed from the proposed budget.

 

Small extended cab truck for Utility Dept. - $23,000

Remodel Police Dept. basement ceiling - $12,000 (this is a duplicate in the Bldg. Mtnce.

      Budget)

4 X 4 Pickup with Dump Bed for Streets - $95,000 (To be purchased through Class C Road  Funds)

Two drop-in sanders for Bob-Tails for Streets - $25,000 (To be purchased through                              Class C Road Funds)

Skid Street Loader for Public Improvements - $37,000 (To be purchased through Class C Road Funds)

Volleyball Court at South Park - $2,000

Water Truck for Parks Dept. - $20,000

4 X 4 pickup with Dump Bed for Irrigation Dept. - $15,000

Swimming Pool Deck Lighting - $10,000

Swimming Pool Boiler Payments moved forward two years

Shop Department - Car Port -$5,000; Welder/Compressor Unit -$17,000; Truck- $38,000

 

The next budget workshop for personnel was scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at 7:00 a.m.
