1. PUBLIC HEARING - Community Development Block Grant
Mayor Colosimo opened the Public Hearing at 5:30 p.m. to receive comments on a project for the Community Development Block Grant. Vern Jones stated that this meeting is to accept public input on any program the public is interested in as a project under the Community Development Block Grant program. The amount available for Carbon County is $84,000. These funds can be used to aid low income families, eliminate blight, or used for economic development. Projects normally associated with this grant include removing handicapped barriers, relocations, public facilities, assistance to neighborhoods, and non-profit organizations. Last year, the City identified the sidewalk project on the east side of town, from the shopping center past the low income housing on the east side of the highway. For this years project, Councilmember Nikas recommended the sidewalk from the little park on West Main Street down through the underpass. There being no further comments, Mayor Colosimo closed the public hearing.
